With this tabletop container, on the other hand, Gilad explores the distances between parallels. The designer developed the theme so that the two parallels converge and meet making the shape of a gondola. Here geometry and tradition overlap and together constitute a precious object capable of conjuring up a variety of images and associations depending on the point of view of who is looking at it. Available in marble or transparent plexiglass, the project is also an example of the coming together of production techniques: more than 70% of the production process is performed by computerized machines whereas, in both cases, the rest of the process, including the finishing touches, is carried out by the hands of master craftsmen.
